Soft restart

  • Connect the Netgear router to the computer via an Ethernet cable.
  • Open a web browser and type routerlogin.net or router login. in the address box.
  • You can also enter the default IP addresses 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.0.1 and then press Enter.
  • Once you have successfully entered into the router login setup, go to the maintenance section.
  • After that, go to the backup settings option.
  • Now wipe all backup settings to return your router to its factory default.

  • Start by plugging your router into a power outlet and turning it on.

  • Take a paperclip or pin and hold the hard reset key for 45 seconds or so until the power light begins to blink. This is important to reset your Netgear router.
  • Once the power light starts blinking, let it go while the router begins to reset itself.
  • Once the reset is finished, restart your router and modem and wait for a minute or so for the process to complete.
